Professor Dr. Mohammed Ashlam Bhuiyan, a familiar educationist, joined National University as a Pro-Vice Chancellor on 11 April 2013.
He obtained his MS in Sociology of Rural Development from the Moscow University, USSR (1976). He was also educated in the USA and Germany. He did his Ph.D from Bombay University under the fellowship of Indian Council of Science Research(ICSSR). He was Chairman and Professor of Sociology at the University of Chittagong and a member of Academic Council and Senate of the same University. He was elected President of the Chittagong University Campus Club in 1994. He is a life Registered Graduate of Dhaka University. He was appointed Temporary Adviser of World Health Organization (WHO). Professor Ashlam wrote more than 100 academic papers in National and Foreign Journals. He also served the Vice Chancellor of the People’s University of Bangladesh as Vice-Chancellor.
