Member, Bangladesh National Education Policy Formulation Committee.
Treasurer, National University of Bangladesh.
Contributor to National dailies on education and teachers’ development.

 

PARTICIPATION   IN  INTERNATIONAL FORUMS:
Attended 29th General  Conference of UNESCO held in Paris in 1997 as a member of  Bangladesh National Delegation.
Awarded John M. Thompson Fellowship on “Organization Development by Canadian Teacher's Federation (CTF)” held in Ottawa & New Brunswick in 1983.
Participated as Deputy Leader of Bangladesh Delegation. in the Principal Training Programme Organised by the World Confederation  of Organizations of the Teaching  Profession (WCOTP) Sponsored by Institute of Teacher Organization Development (ASIA) held in Colombo, Sri Lanka from 5 to 19 February, 1980.
Participant in the seminar : “World Bank Policy Approaches to Education in the Context of Bangladesh” organized jointly by World Bank & Bangladesh  Govt. held in Dhaka in 1982.
Participated in the ``Round Table on Higher Education’’ jointly organized by the Govt. of Bangladesh  and the World Bank in Dhaka in February 28 and 1 March, 2001.
   
ROLE IN EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT IN BANGLADESH :
31 years teaching experience : both in teaching and educational administration, as head of the institutions. Retired Principal, Shaikh Burhanuddin Post Graduate College, Dhaka, the first non-govt university  college of Bangladesh.
Participant in the National Workshop on ``Malpractices in Public Examinations in Bangladesh : Concerted Efforts and Remedial measures’’ Organized by the Ministry of Education Govt. of Bangladesh at BARD Comilla on 14 November 1998.
Participant  in the seminar on  ``National Education Policy ‘’ Organized by the Ministry of Education Govt. of Bangladesh held in Dhaka on 10 May 2001.
Participant in the National Workshop on `` Policy & Planning Issues in Secondary Teacher Education  (9-12 Grades) in Bangladesh ‘’ held in Dhaka on 15th  November 2001.
Former member , Syndicate and Academic Council, National University of Bangladesh.
Former member Senate, Dhaka University, Bangladesh.
Former member Senate, Rajshahi University, Bangladesh.
Convenor,1962 Education Movement against discrimination in educational facilities in the then East Pakistan.
Member, Task Force, Ministry of Education Govt. of Bangladesh in 1995 & 1997.

Adviser, Amar Odhikar Campaign ( My Rights Campaign ) which works mostly on education.

Former President, Khulna Metropolitan Lions Club.
Registered Graduate for Life, Dhaka University.
